Los Alamos part one

The way west.

May 25-June 6 2024
For the last two weeks we have been parked at Kamp Kolman, which is the driveway of the Tate/Kolman home in Los Alamos New Mexico. We are somewhat hidden from the neighborhood street on one side and are on the border of the Los Alamos National Forest on the other side.

Kamp Kolman

We have mostly just been enjoying time with the family, shared meals, trips to our favorite restaurant in Sante Fe, supported the monthly fundraiser breakfast hosted by the Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse, (fraternal organization) sitting in on Marcus’s music lesson, visiting the big house and having visitors to our little home on wheels.

Evan was the only family member who wanted to get up early for breakfast!

On Memorial Day we attended a very heartfelt Memorial Day Ceremony. It was held at the Guaje Pines Cemetery, and we were able to walk there from the house. I get all misty eyed at these things, but we must always remember those who gave their lives for our country and the freedom we enjoy.

Mostly these weeks were mother /daughter time, Millie and RaeAnne enjoyed several shopping outings to Sante Fe and once took their jeep four wheeling in the mountains above the town. I can always find something to keep myself busy and this trip no exception. I had several things on both the truck and travel trailer that needed attention.

When we leave here, we continue west to all the National Parks in the south Utah area.
